FAQs

(F)requently (A)sked (Q)uestions

Q.

Are you dependent on any organization for your funding?

A.

No. We are proud of the fact that our website has never needed to resort to outside investment. All of our funding has been from the principal's pockets and cash received from our activities. Nor are we owned by, or affiliated with any other organization allowing us to be totally impartial and wholly enquiring on behalf of our members and clients.

Q.

Is your database available to publishers, like us, who might like to excerpt from, or reprint, one of your articles?

A.

It depends.  We have no ownership of, or control over, third-party web pages that are linked to from this site.  The copyright rests with the third-party owner. However, the copyright of specific Shaping Tomorrow articles rests with us. Either way we can usually put you in touch with the copyright owner.

Q.

I submitted a suggestion for a link (to my site) - will I receive notice if this suggestion is taken up? - John Turnbull

A.

Yes, you will. We reply quickly to any messages received.

Q.

Do you license all this content or do you simply seek permission to reproduce?

A.

The majority of our work is in finding free resources on the web that only require proper source referencing.

Q.

Can anyone join?

A.

Sure.

Q.

What does your logo represent?

A.

In short, 'first widening exploration of a defined issue and then narrowing it down through systematic analysis to determine a new tomorrow for you and your organization'. Our logo is unlike the logo and brand identification of many companies and is more than simply an attractive graphic. It represents the essence of what we do and has been designed to be immediately recognizable as the Shaping Tomorrow icon. In today's world, we compete with many other companies vying for your attention and often, as not, the first thing people register is the company logo. That's why we have chosen a logo that is simultaneously divergent, convergent and directional. We hope you like it.

Q.

What do you personally predict for the future?

A.;

A world of increasing uncertainty. That's why we created this site to help us all shed a little light on what's coming and how to cope in an increasingly complex, wired and conflicted world.
